Phosphorus, a crucial element for plants, doesn’t exist in its pure form in nature. Its complete oxidation forms phosphate, while incomplete oxidation yields phosphite. With a slight structural difference, phosphite offers greater solubility and absorption compared to phosphate, along with a higher phosphorus percentage. Phosphite gradually converts to phosphate in the soil, a process facilitated by microorganisms, contributing to soil energy. Despite its eventual conversion, applying phosphite during the growing season benefits plant performance due to its superior absorption. Beyond its fungicidal properties, phosphite stimulates plant growth, enhances metabolism, and presents a safer alternative to chemical fungicides.
GENTATROL Potassium Phosphite, containing phosphorus and potassium derived from mono and di-potassium phosphite, strengthens the plant’s immune system, boosting its resistance to root, stem, and leaf fungal diseases, particularly powdery and downy mildews. By converting to phosphorous acid within plant tissues, this fertilizer exerts fungicidal effects on oomycete fungi and stimulates the production of phytoalexins, defensive compounds that disrupt pathogen activity. In high-rainfall areas prone to fungal diseases, especially in citrus orchards, GENTATROL Potassium Phosphite not only provides potassium and phosphorus but also offers disease protection, enhancing fruit quality in terms of aroma, flavor, and color. This fertilizer can be applied via foliar spray or irrigation and is absorbed more readily than phosphate fertilizers.
