This insecticide is a contact, ingestion, non-systemic pesticide with a definitive effect on pests; it’s also known commercially as Ethion. Belonging to the organophosphate chemical group, it works by inhibiting the enzyme cholinesterase in the nervous system, resulting in insect death. Foliar application of Ethion, combined with an emulsifiable oil, is recommended for dormant season spraying of trees to control insect eggs, mites, scales, and armored scales.
Ethion is registered with the Iranian Pesticide Supervisory Board for the control of the following pests:

Environmental Toxicity: It is very dangerous for bees, birds, fish and aquatic creatures.
Precautions: Strictly avoid eating, drinking, or smoking during application.
Symptoms of Poisoning: Headache, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, and visual disturbances.
First Aid: In case of poisoning, immediately consult a physician with the pesticide label.
Antidote: Atropine and oximes such as pralidoxime and obidoxime.
