Imidacloprid, marketed as Confidor, is a systemic neonicotinoid insecticide with both contact and ingestion activity. It acts on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect central nervous system, causing mortality. Its systemic nature allows for uptake through leaves, stems, and roots, and efficient translocation throughout the plant via the phloem, effectively controlling sucking insects and other pests.
Imidacloprid is registered with the Iranian Pesticide Supervisory Board for the control of the following pests:

Environmental Toxicity: Extremely dangerous to honeybees, highly dangerous to birds, and dangerous to fish and other aquatic organisms. In areas where honeybees are kept, these insecticides should preferably be used at temperatures below 12 degrees Celsius. It is essential to notify beekeepers 48 hours prior to application to allow them to collect their bees and hives if desired.
Precautions: Strictly avoid eating, drinking, or smoking during application.
Symptoms of Poisoning: Headache, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, and visual disturbances.
First Aid: In case of poisoning, immediately consult a physician with the pesticide label.
Antidote: There is no specific antidote. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
